How did you get into this?
I started making videos with my brothers, editing in iMovie and posting them on YouTube. Getting my first DSLR gave me more to experiment with. I liked having an idea, going out to film it and then seeing what I could do with it in the edit.
What do you like filming?
I’m especially into nightlife films and athlete hype videos. I love the cinematic look of a venue film, and I like making athletic footage feel exciting. Music and movement are a big part of what I enjoy working with.
What goes into your edits?
A lot of my time goes into finding the right song and getting the cuts to hit with it. Then I get into masking, effects, animated text and the smaller adjustments. I can get pretty particular about that stuff. It’s a big part of why I enjoy doing this.
What if I’m awkward on camera?
I’ve been in front of the camera too, so I know that feeling. We can work through what you want to say, choose a direction and plan the shots together. If the film needs a script, I can help write it. You don’t need to arrive with it all figured out.
